introductions

I'm mostly posting this because one looks at an empty journal and assumes it's abandoned and I would actually like to establish enough of a presence on here to functionally interact with people (no word yet on whether this is likely to be successful, we'll see what happens.)
Hi! I answer to Fatal, or Muirgen, as well as my username on here (derived from my tumblr and AO3 handles respectively). Some background info on me:
I'm 25 and in school (again). I mostly like my program but the 'being in school' part is less ideal. I miss having money and free time.
I've read/watched a fair bit of SF/F, but I'm catching up on things a lot more slowly now that I have no free time. I like the Vorkosigan books, marvel movies, x men comics, Tamora Pierce, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and a swack of other things that aren't coming to mind right now, but Dragon Age is the only thing I've really been involved in fandom for. I'm a sucker for media analysis, fandom squeeing, and intensive character breakdowns (both making and reading.)
I was never on LJ and I don't know how to run a dreamwidth so I'm likely to alternately blunder about knocking into things, and hide in a corner.
I try to be friendly and helpful and appreciative of my friends but I am fairly sure I don't do enough to put that out into the world, mostly because I'm and anxious bunny and tend to come across as bitchy and pedantic in writing. So consider this a notice that I am friendly and excited to talk to people, and if I come off as flat and annoyed I almost certainly am not.
